ALPINISM ACTIVITIES

In the Summer, Mountain Guides Italy is based in Ponte di Legno, the perfect location for mountaineering courses in the Italian Alps. The Adamello-Presanella range has the largest glacier in the Italian Alps and thanks to its geomorphology offers multiple traverses from hut to hut. The Ortles-Cevedale range, accessible from Ponte di Legno over the Gavia Pass, has many stunning uncrowded peaks up to 3900 metres above seal level. The Brenta Dolomites, just across the valley, makes a unique combination during a 6 day course/trip to experience glacier mountaineering and dolomite rock mountaineering. The area is a paradise for first time Mountaineers with many easy routes and ascents, ideal for courses or for simply exploring the World War One front lines and enormous glaciers. More experienced Alpinists will find interesting terrain to improve their skills or extend their knowledge following the more difficult routes.
